A new Star, more axle work, and engine item upgrades!
At long last, the hood is finished! This is PART 2 of adding the stencil markings to the hood with a brand new star with a big unveiling of the finished Jeep with new markings and axles! After that, I start work on trying to figure out what the clackity sound is coming from the rear of the Jeep by re-opening up the rear axle and diving into the carrier. This includes replacing the spider gears, side gears, and more. I also remove the pinion and check everything out before putting it all back together. Finally, I re-add the heat shield for the master cylinder and work on enhancing the engine with some new items.

Wartime GPW Head exchange!
Finally, after so many delays it just got to be silly, the Jeep is back up and driving again! In this extra-long update, I go through the entire process of changing out my CJ2 engine head to a wartime GPW head! That includes adding the correct studs, bolts, a GPW thermostat, and a copper gasket. It’s been a multi-week project! I also continue replacing bolts with correct recessed head bolts and replace one of the top bow brackets with a GPW one. Plus several other things!

Birthday Present for the Jeep!
This week I had a few small projects, and started one big project! Since the Jeep turned 76 last week, I got ahold of an original GPW head block which I’ll be putting on the engine with the correct studs/F Bolts! This week includes PART 1 of installation! I also continued work on adding recessed head bolts, attempted to make inspector stamps for the Voltage Regulator, and more. It’s a bit of a smaller update than usual, but still some good work!
Engine problems!
The restoration has slowed to a crawl as I finish the last little bits. Compared to just a few weeks ago, it seems like not much is getting done. But a major engine issue has plagued me this entire week causing me to stop everything and work on various tests. It’s been frustrating to say the least…

Body Tub ALMOST done!
Another busy week working on the Jeep every morning and evening (plus weekends). Not quite as fast of a pace as I was hoping, but still getting lots of progress. Going back and forth between working on the engine, painting various things, and drilling holes in the new body tub..
