Wings, Tracks, and Wheels 2024It’s been a while since the last update, and it’s time for a long overdue BIG one! This update covers two of the largest updates for the Jeep in 2024… the Wings, Tracks, and Wheels event at the Planes of Fame Air Museum in May, and a whole bunch of issues with the Jeep that I had to overcome! This update is so large in fact, that due to Facebook’s limit on photos per post, this will be a two-part update.
Special Event – Wheels, Tracks, and Wings 2023After a successful event last year, I helped put on another ‘Wheels, Tracks, and Wings’ event at the Planes of Fame Air Museum! This time, we made the event much bigger, we added another day, more vehicles, more reenactors, a reenactor camp, a Sherman Tank demo, presentations all day long, and more!

Special Update – 12 ‘O Clock High at Chino AirportIn this week’s update, the Jeep visits the 918th Bomb Group at Archbury… a fun look at the shooting location for the 1964-67 TV show “12 ‘O Clock High” filmed at Chino Airport, California. I took the Jeep over to the shooting locations and documented what things look like today!

Planes of Fame Event, Night Stop Light, & 1940s California License PlatesIn this week’s update, I took the Jeep out to an event I helped put on at the Planes of Fame Air Museum which had TEN Jeeps! After a recap of the entire event, I show a new idea for safety in night-time driving. Finally, for those in California, I discuss license plates from 1940-1945 and how they changed each year.

Air Cleaner Restoration, Fuel Gauge Calibration, Early Fire Extinguisher, & More!This week’s update is full of some great goodies. First, I continue work on a friend’s post-war air cleaner restoration for his Jeep. Then I get to work getting the fuel gauge to read the right fuel level. WW2 Bombers, MD Juan Grill Display, and Flea Market findsIt’s been a while since the last full update, so here’s a special one with what all has happened in the last month! First, the Jeep got to meet two incredible World War 2 bombers including a B-29 Superfortress and a B-17 Flying Fortress! Lots of photos with both the aircraft. Then, I finished the MD Juan grill display that I had worked on in August which is now hanging in my garage. Finally, various flea market finds including tools and how to identify correct Schrader screw type tire valve caps.

Warbirds and MD Juan GrillThis past weekend I took the Jeep out to the Planes of Fame Air Museum (in over 100 degree heat, yikes!) to get some photos of the Jeep with various warbirds at the museum and also have it on display for visitors to check out. Driving home was a bit of an issue with the intense heat though! Also, I started work on a special project with a MD Juan Grill…
Photoshoot, Russian ‘Jeep Clone’, and Jerry Can Nozzle!Another slower week since there wasn’t a lot to do on the Jeep work wise, but with a day of cooler cloudy weather, I was able to take the Jeep out to a new location and do a photoshoot in several spots with some great results! Also, I chronicle, through photos, a Russian ‘clone’ of the Jeep… a GAZ-67 located at the Planes of Fame Air Museum. Finally, I begin work on a very rusty Jerry Can nozzle.
