Major work done this week!In a quest to stop the coolant leaks, I took apart the engine head to replace a gasket, quite the ordeal! Plus, restoration work was finished on the replacement Jerry Can, and the accelerator linkage was adjusted. Felt like back a few months ago during the heart of the restoration with all the work!
Axles, Mirrors, Jerry Cans, oh my!Work continues on the axles, which I got last week… revealing some bad news in a startling discovery. But, on the bright side of things, a few other projects that have been needing work are done!
A special wartime axle discovery!If you read yesterday’s update, you saw that I recently got a pair of axles for free from a G503 forum member… well, after cleaning them up I got a great surprise!

Happy Halloween everyone!
The Jeep is a star attraction this year! And it has some special passengers this evening!
A quick update, the Jeep has been seen in public! I got it all registered and street legal last week! Then, last Friday I took the Jeep out to the local park, the furthest away it’s been at the time from the house! On Sunday morning I went even further and took the Jeep to the local grocery store to get some items, and that’s the first time I’ve taken it through stoplights and parked it in public! She still needs markings, and I’m still working out slight bugs/leaks, but she’s out driving! Continue reading “Street Legal!”
Starter Issues Fixed!After dealing with the bad starter last week, a new one arrived and fixed all the issues! But, on a drive not long after, I ran into yet ANOTHER issue, this time with the shifter…
Starter IssuesAll driving of the Jeep was halted last week when it was discovered my starter was sparking and smoking. Upon taking apart the starter it was pretty dirty and had what appeared to be several issues…
Driving the Jeep!Work has slowed on the Jeep since it’s almost done! The next few updates will be small, since there’s only minimal things left to do on the Jeep. But the awesome news is that I’ve driven the Jeep a full mile and a half now!
It’s been ONE YEAR since the Jeep was delivered to my house by Michael. I celebrated by driving the Jeep, for the first time, down the driveway and back into the garage twice! Small little trip, but a great first test to see how well she handles… and great to have her move under her own power in over two years!
