More Axle work and a look at what’s leftThis week was a bit slow again, and I only got to work on the rear axle disassembling it more checking it out. I discover several Ford F marks, and see what condition the brakes are in. At the end of the post after some shots of the Jeep while out driving, I break down what’s left to do on the Jeep till I can say I’m pretty much ‘done’. While the overall restoration is finished, there’s still plenty left to do!
Little Projects and more Axle workThis past week was a little slow with Jeep work, but managed to get in some work on finishing the installation of the trailer socket, adding a filter to the oil filter, and continuing work disassembling the GPW axles.
Markings are finished!As the New Year quickly sped past, the Jeep as entered what I’d call the final phase for the restoration and it so close to being ‘done’ that it shouldn’t be much longer now with the small projects left. This week I was able to work quite a bit on the Jeep, with the last markings being put on, continuing work on the GPW axles, and starting work on adding the trailer socket shield.
New Oil Filter and more markings!Hope all had a great Christmas! It’s been two weeks since the last update, and while I’ve been quite busy with various things keeping me away from the Jeep, I managed to get a lot of work in here and there spread out, especially restoring a new oil filter for the Jeep and applying the correct Ford decals! This is the type of work I really enjoy doing.
Valve Work and first Markings!After last week’s not-so-good adjustment of the valves, I tackled it again this past week to much better results. Also, another milestone as the very first USAAF markings have been applied to the Jeep! Plus a walk around of the Jeep and what markings still need to be added.
Return of the StarterIt’s December! This week saw a lot of work, including the replacement of the cracked intake manifold (see last week’s update), the return of the rebuilt starter, fixing the toolbox lids, and more!
Adjusting the valvesHappy Thanksgiving to all who celebrated yesterday! This week I was able to set some time aside to adjust the valves on my engine since the starter is still out for repair. I also fixed the heat riser that was installed wrong on the engine. Plus, the stencils for the Jeep markings arrived!
New shipment of items!This week saw a few more little projects done, thanks to some shipments of new items! As I prepped for another major engine project, however, tragedy struck requiring an expensive replacement…
