Happy 80th Birthday to the Jeep!
Another major milestone was reached as the Jeep turns 80 years old, following just 20 days after the D-Day 80th anniversary!
Today is the big day: GPW #208102 turns 80 years old today! With a Date of Delivery (DOD) of June 26, 1944, my Jeep has reached another major milestone. I took her on a drive in the heat this morning and snapped this shot at the local park. While the Jeep was technically probably built a few days before this date, Jeep owners often use the DOD, when they were officially accepted by the US Government, as the ‘birth’ of their Jeep. Here’s to another 80 years and beyond!
